Michael Kastelic was born in Vienna in 1970 and grew up fascinated by cameras and technology. At first, it was about the tools – the image came later.
Over time, photography became his way of engaging with people and places. He now lives in Vienna with his wife and focuses entirely on photography.
His journey began in the 1980s with a technical approach to cameras – photographs were initially a by-product. In 2000, he transitioned to digital photography, continuously experimenting with new techniques and visual ideas.
Since 2023, his focus has shifted toward visual composition and intuitive storytelling, shaped through workshops and consistent photographic practice.
